Privacy
Swiftly collects nothing. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no accounts with me. The app talks only to the Jellyfin server you enter yourself. Auf Deutsch
What stays on your device
- Your server access token — in the iOS keychain, not in preferences. When you sign out it is deleted, and the server is asked to invalidate it.
- Your settings — Direct Play, bitrate, audio and subtitle language, skip intervals, appearance.
- The address of the server you last used, so you don't have to type it again.
- A random device identifier. Jellyfin uses it to list your session in its dashboard. It is created on the device, says nothing about you, and leaves the device only towards your own server.
- Cached posters and backdrops, so browsing doesn't reload every image.
All of it disappears when you delete the app.
What goes to your server
While playing, Swiftly reports to your Jellyfin server what is running and how far along it is. That is what makes "Continue watching" work and lets you pick up on another device. These reports go to your server — not to any service of mine, not to a third party.
What your server stores in turn is up to you, not to this app.
What I don't see
I run no service that Swiftly connects to. I cannot see that you use the app, what you watch, which server you have, or how often you open it. There are no crash reports to me, no statistics, no advertising identifiers.
Apple provides me, as it does for any app, with anonymous aggregate download figures. Individuals are not identifiable in them, and they come from Apple, not from the app.
Trailers
If a title has no trailer file on your server but carries a linked address, Swiftly opens that address in the browser — usually YouTube. From that moment the privacy policy of that site applies, not this one. This only happens if you tap "Trailer".
Children
Swiftly is not directed at children and collects no data — from anyone.
The website
swiftlyplayer.com is a handful of static files. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no fonts, maps or scripts from other servers and stores nothing in your browser. There is no contact form and no newsletter.
Server logs
Like every web server, this one records that a file was fetched: IP address, time, the address requested, the amount of data, the browser identification and, where sent, the page you came from. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is running the site and fending off attacks. These records are not combined with anything else, are not used to recognise you, and are deleted after a short time.
Hosting
The site is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, on servers in Germany. They process the log data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Article 28 GDPR).
Links out
App Store, TestFlight, GitHub, Discord and jellyfin.org are other people's sites. Tapping one takes you there and their privacy notices apply. Nothing is sent to them before you do.
Who is responsible, and your rights
You have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. A message to the address above is enough. You may also complain to a supervisory authority; for me that is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.

Changes and contact
If anything changes, it will appear here with a new date. As long as the app collects nothing, there is little occasion.
